- Data Analytics: not open to students who have completed CIS 308, CIS 310, or CIS 315.

What is The Global Career Accelerator?
The ASU Global Career Accelerator is an online, instructor-led experience that combines weekly LiveLabs with hands-on, employer-informed projects. Students collaborate with peers from 60+ universities to tackle real-world briefs while building communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The program develops in-demand digital and data skills using current industry tools. Participants finish with a portfolio of work, industry certifications, and documented, NACE-aligned competencies—clear evidence of career readiness.
What makes it global?
Throughout the program students are introduced to global businesses and the unique challenges they face delivering programming, services or goods around the world. Students wrestle with the challenges while building out a global portfolio of projects and learning from an intercultural competency curriculum aimed at increasing students ability to communicate and collaborate across cultures and backgrounds to improve prepare them for the hybrid, distributed teams of the global workforce.
What are the program dates?
Summer 2026 term: The program will be offered from from May 18 to July 26.
Fall 2026 term: The program will be offered from from August 20 to December 4.
What are LiveLabs and Video Lessons?
The program is broken up into LiveLabs and Video Lessons:
LiveLabs are virtual sessions held once a week and conducted over Zoom with your classmates. Attendance in LiveLab each week is required. Seats tend to fill up fast, so make sure you reserve your seat quickly to secure your schedule.
Video Lessons are high-quality, pre-recorded videos that can be viewed any time — day or night — but you will need to stay on track with your peers.
Do these credits count towards Barrett honors credit?
Yes! All of the course code options for the program apply as honors credits. Students don’t need to do anything other than apply for this to happen.
Do students need to have completed pre-req’s?
No, the program is intentionally designed for all students and requires no pre reqs, prior experience or technical background. The goal is to build hybrid skillsets and career experience setting students apart in the job market.
Can students complete 1 course in a track rather than both?
No they must enroll in both courses. The course is divided into two parts which is a requirement to complete the course and receive credits.

How are contact hours structured in the Global Career Accelerator?
The Global Career Accelerator is a fully online, experiential, and project-based course that blends live, collaborative learning with independent work. Students engage in a combination of synchronous LiveLabs, group projects, and asynchronous lessons designed to mirror a real workplace environment. This structure enables students from more than 100 partner universities—including Michigan, UNC, Georgetown, and Harvard—to work together in national LiveLabs, building teamwork, communication, and intercultural fluency alongside applied technical skills.
What types of learning activities and assignments are included?
The Global Career Accelerator is a for-credit, semester-long experiential learning program that blends technical skill development, professional readiness, and global competency. Each week, students complete a structured mix of applied projects, reflection activities, and live collaborative sessions designed to mirror real-world, career-connected work.
Students complete 7–10 employer-informed projects tied to real challenges from Fortune 500 companies and startups—using industry tools such as Tableau, SQL, and digital marketing platforms. Weekly LiveLabs bring students together across campuses for guided teamwork, communication, and project problem-solving. Assignments include research, portfolio development, and career reflection tasks such as resume enhancement and LinkedIn optimization.
By the end of the term, students graduate with a digital portfolio, employer-linked credentials (from companies like Intel, L’Oréal, and The Recording Academy), and tangible proof of applied skills—connecting classroom learning directly to career outcomes.
What credentials or certifications can students earn through this course?
Students can earn up to four digital certifications upon successful completion:
• Two track-specific certifications (e.g., JavaScript, Data Visualization, or Ecommerce)
• One AI professional skills certification
• One intercultural skills certification
• Internship project certificate
To qualify, students must achieve 80% or higher on evaluations and maintain at least 80% attendance in LiveLabs. These certifications strengthen student portfolios and provide third-party validation of both technical and professional skills.
